I used to think aprons as anachronistic and dowdy superfluous additions to the kitchen. I mean how does putting on an apron change the tedium of the tasks at hand? How wrong I was. I decided to don one some months ago and found the mere act of putting it on seemed to supercharge me. It was as if the deliberate act of putting one on indicated that I meant business and was ready to put effort into whatever it was I was doing. So I am an apron convert. What's more, I find that the more cheerful the attire, the better I feel and that makes for a right frame of mind when tackling day to day chores.
