Every evening

There is...

A slow...

But deliberate...

March that occurs...

Without fail...

As the girls...

Put themselves to bed...
If only the humans in our household were just as sensible!

Tilly these days

These chilly days we try to keep active by climbing fences

Can get tiring at times...

So we hop into the most comfy spot in the sun that we can find

And settle down for a snooze...

These days seem to be full of...

I only wish I had a camera fast enough to capture her moves!

A visitor

This kookaburra seems to have decided to take residence nearby.  I often see him (or her) perching on our arbour at dusk.  I managed to creep up ever so slowly to snap a few pics.

Glorious hues of sunset from our backyard.  Such beauty.  Thankful that I have the opportunity to pause and just enjoy.

A very special quilt

With a story very close to my heart... one that speaks of love, of sacrifice, of grace, of mercy - summed up in John 3:16.  Made as a gift for a missionary couple with young children heading out to another country shod with beautiful feet as bearers of good news.

Pieced with autumnal colours

The option of 2 ways to live after you hear the story

An final exhortation - Speak the truth, even if your voice shakes...

Edged with red binding

Backed with cheery apples.

Thermal Cooking

Beef stew in the stainless steel pot simmering over the stove...

Into the Thermal pot to keep cooking slowly...

Closed and cooking...all ready in a minimum of 4 hours
With the weather cooling down significantly, the thermal cooker has had a good work out in our home...Ours was an $80 purchase from Aldi a couple of years back.  I love that it uses very little gas and 20 minutes of simmering is all that's required and then it sits on the benchtop slowly stewing for 4 hours.  Plus the bonus that it keeps piping hot till we get home!

A felt lined zebra beanie

In anticipation for Pip's impending Canberra excursion with her school come beginning of term 3, she requested a special beanie. She spied this lovely specimen here and 3 days later, here's the result.  I'm rather proud of the outcome myself!

Felt lined beanie with side braids to attach to ear flaps

Close up of the muzzle (stuffed to fill it out more) and button eyes.

A Flood of sorts

For some bizarre reason, 2 nights ago, the hose connection for the upstairs bathroom burst sending a flood of water into the cabinet and bathroom floor.  This is it after the repair by our plumber.
The contents of the cupboard were soaked through and had to be dried.  Just as well we were home and managed to turn the water off at the mains to stem the tide...
Took the opportunity to tidy up the stuff under the cupboard and sort through Pip's 'hair stuff'
Much neater now.
