Building a hatch

 It’s always a bit scary when you hack into a perfectly good structure to make it more suitable for your own use.  I had intended to build the nesting boxes which open to the outside anyway for access.  Haven’t quite decided if I want them protruding outside or inside with the hatch outside. Until I build a pop door for the coop, I have had to put the chicks in manually at the end of the day.  The little hatch for the moment works great as I catch them 2 by 2 and pop them into the coop, leaving the people door shut.
