Pumpkin Harvest

I harvested the last of the hairy melons and also the Jap pumpkins

I was going to leave them on the vine for longer but am glad that I harvested them now - 1 or 2 of them have sat on the moist ground for too long and feel spongy in sections that were sitting on the ground.  I'm hoping that a couple of days in the sun will help - this is the worse one - I will probably make pumpkin soup with this one today.

    1. Yes! I'm quite pleased with the haul as I was worried that the wet weather we've had in Sydney would result in a poor harvest.

  2. Oh Lilian, you've done so well! I really wish I had the space to let a pumpkin vine sprawl - I adore japanese pumpkin!

    1. I think these are 'Jap' pumpkin (J)ust (A)nother (P)umpkin - Suzanne from Enchanted Moments enlightened me about them. I'm going to think twice about growing them again - they did take up a lot of space!
