Gardens By the Bay - in Singapore

Day 2 saw us taking a spin through the spectacular Gardens By the Bay...

Arriving at the Bay South Entrance

Marvelling at the tree sculptures with plants growing on the trunks aptly named 'Supertrees'

The whole garden utilizes environmentally sound means of cooling and watering...

We could see the Marina Bay Sands in the distance...

Because we arrived at around 11am, it was too hot to walk so we hopped onto one of the bus tours instead.

We saw terracotta elephants in the Indian Garden...

Rock sculptures in the Chinese Garden

The Skyway where you can get a birds' eye view of the gardens.

It's hard to take a bad picture really when you have so much beauty around you...

A pig topiary

Massive tree trunks touted to be more than 1000s of years old...

We decided to head into one of the Conservatories - Cloud Forest (Flower Dome was closed to visitors for maintenance work)
The lovely cool misty entrance...

Lush foliage and flowers from mountainous regions

Totems along the way up...

We walked the walkway at the top of the falls...

And yes it was freaky that we were up that high!!

Gorgeous offerings of orchids everywhere you looked... sigh...

We then walked across the Dragon Fly Bridge which adjoins the Marina Bay Sands...

Just in time for lunch and a local favourite - Ice Kachang to cool off...
