I was planning to have the kids read the verse from the cards on each pocket and then hang the card in front of the pocket so eventually the whole story unfolds in 1 reading. Need to get it finished by Wed as the countdown begins then!Flepandcohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03829255811468297928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2998671520838626880.post-60223773408120557372011-11-28T23:29:03.665+11:002011-11-28T23:29:03.665+11:00Lilian - what is the plan with the advent calendar...Lilian - what is the plan with the advent calendar? Do you open a pocket each day to read a verse of the birth narrative from Luke? I love the idea - much better than the chocolate calendars that have become so common!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2998671520838626880.post-41250590539154454952011-11-25T14:25:42.036+11:002011-11-25T14:25:42.036+11:00Yes an advent calendar is on the cards (no pun int...Yes an advent calendar is on the cards (no pun intended). I didn't use a pattern. For the skirts, initially I cut a 5 inch diameter circle with pinking shears then a hole in the middle to slot the peg through. I worked out that the circle meant that the skirt stood out much like a tutu - not very modest, so I made it into a cone shape instead. I hand stitched the pink frill that I had handy for the 'daughter'. Mum had a 5 inch circle to start off with and the daughter had a smaller 4 inch one. I glued a piece of ribbon for the 'belt' to hide the edges. Have fun making them!Flepandcohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03829255811468297928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2998671520838626880.post-75055690206571320452011-11-25T13:13:27.072+11:002011-11-25T13:13:27.072+11:00Lillian, they are so gorgeous! Are you using the pieces of paper for an advent calendar?
